You should own Damien Rice already

O and 9

Window in the Skies

A very nice look back at the evolution of U2

Let's finish w/ Tears for Fears

The Hurting tape, not CD, not Album, tape was the best. Everything else that came after sucked ass. Shout! Everybody wants to rule the world...Ugh!

Blanc Mange

I've been trying to find them for a while and here it is..YouTube!

OMD and YouTube

You gotta give YouTube credit for providing hard to find videos. And stick it to iTunes for charging now for videos! If only they had any decent ones worth paying for.

Inara George/ The Bird and the Bee

Cute band. I think Nate would appreciate their music. Check out The Bird and the Bee on iTunes and preview F*))ing Boyfriend. That's my favorite tune.

Adventures in Babysitting

Tanner really loves animals. He spent the evening posing and hugging the Beanie Buddies (See they're not just for collecting anymore!). While Tyler was upstairs screaming along w/ his Leap Frog DVD's, Tanner opted to watch Barnyard with Neil downstairs. He basically sat on the couch hugging his pig and monkey during the whole movie.

Tyler is also in his phase of "WHY?"

Anyway, Babysitting is a lot of work and tiring, I went straight to bed after they were picked up.

Testing...collage

Aunt Jane sent me some pictures and I've posted them on my Flickr site.
But I ran across a collage format on a MySpace and I think I've found it. Let's give it a try eh?

American Idol

This season's premier was simply hilarious! I think the theme was
"I'M DELUSIONAL!"
I can't wait for another 2 hours of it tomorrow. My employee's roommate auditioned when they were here in Seattle and she was rejected and wouldn't even talk about it.
OMG...I can't wait to see the "talent" of Seattle.

D&G fashion show

DOLCE AND GABBANA 2008 WINTER FASHION SHOW

I really like how the jeans are no longer distressed but really clean, dark, and looks like trousers!

Eric in Thailand

Eric is in Thailand and you can see some of his pictures on his website.
www.scubaeric.com. There's some cool ones of our recent trip to HNL for U2.

Look at the reef photos and I'm jealous of the elephant ride.

Road to Guantanamo

The terrifying first-hand account of three British citizens who were held for two years without charges in the American military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Known as the “Tipton Three,” in reference to their home town in Britain, the three were eventually returned to Britain and released, still having had no formal charges ever made against them at any time during their ordeal.

This film demonstrates the true horror of Guantanamo and the idiots running it. If you have netflix or Blockbuster.com, put it in your queue.

Weather

We've been in the NW since 1991 and this is the worst fall/winter yet.
It also sucks for business. Hopefully the weather will be back in the 40s in the next few days and it'll all be back to "normal". In the meantime, tonigh is the season's premiere of "American Idol"!

We'll revisit once the finalists are in place and let's do our poll as to who the next AI will be!

An Inconvenient Truth

Let's all do our part. Visit www.climatecrisis.net , watch the video, and save Earth.

Children of Men

Clive Owen would have definitely been my choice for Bond. Not that Daneil Craig wasn't good, Clive Owen would have been different.
We saw Children of Men tonight and I must say that it's a very moving and almost action thriller with a strong message. It's amazing that the guy who directed Y Tu Mama Tabien and Harry Potter made such an intense and utterly captivating film.

Idiot Drivers

I think they should have a test that all drivers in Seattle show competency in driving when it's too sunny, too rainy, and a threat of snow!
It took us hours this evening to drive home where it normally takes 20 minutes.

1. All the newcasters scare everyone about the hazzardous driving conditions. We drove from Seattle to Bellevue and even though it was snowing, the roads were wet so there was NO reason to be driving 5mph! And somehow all the cars in the express HOV lane (99% of them )were single drivers! MOFO!!!

2. The hill going down to our house had a lot of slush but of course, cars decided it was ok to just strand themselves dab right in the middle of the hill blocking both lanes. 3 cars decided that going in reverse up the hill while cars were coming down was a good idea. The idiot cop just stared at all the cars and drove away!

I can't wait for tomorrow when it's suppose to ice over and everyone will call in and say they can't make it to work. How does anyone on the east coast conduct business or make it out of their house if we can't even manage the itsy bitsy snow!

LEARN HOW TO DRIVE! Anyone obtaining a driver's license should have to pass a driving test in moderate climate conditions and if they don't pass, they're not allowed to drive! PERIOD!

Apple iPhone

It's here! Coming this JUNE. www.apple.com for more information. Damn, I just got my samsung and I do like it A LOT! Service for the iPhone will be available exclusively through Cingular so I'm sure Nate will be switching! :) Watch the video keynotes and be wow'd!
However:
SMS, what about MMS?
3G technology? I notice the difference when I was in HNL that EDGE was way slower than 3G (in Seattle).
I hope that you can switch to landscape to type instead of the vertical mode.
$499/4G and $599/8G. BUT...we're looking at maybe $70/ month for basic phone service but text/internet is about $30/month and data transfer is about $40/month but I'm sure they will bundle it for $50 or $60/ month so you'll be looking at close to $120/month for phone service plus text/internet/data!

DREAMGIRLS

Everyone says Jennifer Hudson stole the entire movie and after seeing it, I agree. I didn't think every song was good but there were quite a few highlights. If you go to iTunes and listen to the original broadway recording, you'll hear a more soulful rendition of the songs. The new recording is very polished and "hollywood". They're both good but if different ways.

Go see the movie for Jennifer Hudson's performance if nothing else. I'm not a fan of Jamie Foxx and I'm still not. He was ok. Eddie Murhpy was actually really good. He wasn't doing schtick or campy which is a relief!

Beyonce's role was quite minimal and there's one scene that was stellar.

dinner

I actually cooked dinner. Rice and all! Made the chimichurri sauce but I didn't have a blender or food processor so I used the Braun hand blender...Don't do what I did. I would recommend that you finely chop everything and allow the whole thing to come into full flavor in the fridge for a few hours.

I had a small headof garlic and because I love garlic, I used the whole head thinking it was small but because it was a bit "pureed" the garlic was too intense. As in the picture, it seems everything is chopped and not processed. Also go easy on the vinegar, I would cut it back from 1/4 to 1/8 cup and increase the olive oil from 3/4 to almost 1 cup.

Bai Ling on LOST

OK..I may be premature in saying, " How the $%^#%@ can they choose Bai Ling to be on LOST?" I mean she's on every F list Worst dressed and she's even worse than Kathy Griffin! OMG...
Then again, LOST hasn't really let us down..yet!...

I feel like one of those people who boo'd Daniel Craig and then praised him after having watched Casino Royale. But Craig has always been a decent actor whereas Bai Ling is really not.

Damn Racist..

I found this on the net and of course I found it funny but also racist... This is known as the ORIENTAL eye exam. Pull your eyes back in a slant (like an asian) and you'll be able to read the exam.

what's in the fridge

You know how you get hungry or the munchies and you open your fridge every 20 minutes hoping the food has reproduced and something new catches your eye?

Well...since the power outaged, everything was thrown out because we lost power for 4 days. The only thing in the fridge is some kimchee and lots of condiments. There's a lot of dried chinese herbs in the freezer and 2 pints of ice cream. That's it.

I keep opening the fridge and I think there's something to eat.

VH1 Classics

This channel rocks. Lots of concerts and the making of albums.
This week is Nirvana's Nevermind and U2's Joshua Tree.
Check it out!

Happy New Year

Grade: C. Ho Hum...another teen horror flick that's terribly acted.
Grade: B+. Total cult classic!
