drunk tweeker
Maybe he was trying to break in and was surprised that Neil opened the door and he took off. Who knows. But I gotta tell you, I'm ready for this week to be over!
I saw The pursuit of Happyness. It was ok. I've watched a whole week of Regis and Kelly. Pat Sajak was the co-host as Regis is out recovering from surgery. Pat's kinda funny. Then I watched Rosie banter with Elizabeth on The View.
My novacaine has worn off and yes, my leg is now in pain. I finally gave in and took some vicodin with lots of food and water.
I have to tell you. Don't break a leg. It's a bitch getting in and out of the tub to shower. I got a chair for the tub but it's now even more of a pain to maneuver my way in and sit down.
And lets talk about trying to put on underwear and pants. I have to get myself on the floor, lay on my butt, throw my legs up and try to put on one leg at a time. But the problem is I can't move my broken leg so it's like trying to lasso my leg w/ my underwear.
Right now, I'm taking the advice of the nurse by icing the area under my knee. She says it helps w/ the swelling and the itchiness.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Screw Me!
The anethesiologist and surgeon were top notch. I told them I wanted to be knocked out. I don't want to be awake for 2 hours listening to them cut me open, reset my bones, and hear screws going into my bones. No thank you!
So 2 hours later, I'm all numb and in a smaller cast and feeling good.

Grow Cube
Sure this is old. Some of you may have played it. But it's mindless and it keeps the clock ticking while I sit at home bored shitless.
Lady M Confections
oxycodon
I went to the ER and they took x-rays of my bowels and the ER doctor said my bowels were pretty much blocked. My nausea was from the meds so I'm only taking tylenol.
She gave me some oral liquid laxative that taste like concentrated sour patch kids candy. SOUR!
So today, I've been sitting on the potty clearing my bowels and I had coffee. Yeah! No more headaches, and tummy is better. Ate some toast and jam.
But this removable cast is so heavy, it's like carrying 40 lbs of weight on a broken foot. Who's stupid idea was that?

Ankle update
Going in for an outpatient surgery to put in pins to hold my bones and repair the ligament. It's something the doctors say they see in a lot of sports injury.
I'll be out of commission for 3-6 months.
Back to sleep! All these meds are making me pass out.

Happy Easter/ Broken ankle
This morning, I went into work early and I've always been concerned that one day I'll fall off the ladder and well, today was the day. The new hardwood floor we installed has a thick varnish layer that can be very slippery. As I was going up the ladder I realized it wasn't locked into place and found myself desperately trying to grab onto the ledge as I was falling with the ladder. The height was only about 10 feet and I landed ok on my left foot but as I landed on my right foot, it got stuck between the rungs and the ladder fell on top of my foot. By the way I was laying on the floor and how my right foot was at a grotesque angle, I knew I broke it. I was panicking and tried to get up but once I stood up, the pain was so intense I screamed and fell back down. I hurried crawled to the phone and quickly got up on my left foot and fell back down on the floor to call Neil and 911 right way. 911 arrived in less than 5 minutes. While waiting, I was laughing that I was the lady in the commercial, "I've fallen and I can't get up!"
I realized that I had locked the door behind me and had to crawl across the store with my right broken angle up in the air jutting out 90 degrees up and away from my body. Once I had the door open, I crawled back behind a table to hide myself from passer-bys. I didn't want them to see me on the floor as I knew the Fire Dept was on their way.
Once the Fire Dept arrived, the put me in a splint and cut my shoes off. The pain was excrutiating and throbbing at this point. The took me to Swedish in Ballard and there, they cut off my jeans. I was thinking, Fuck!...there goes a few hundred bucks!
I concentrated on breathing and tryingto relax through the pain and they gave me dilauded. The pain instanted subsided and became more dull than sharp. The attending told me to was going to pull my ankle and snap it back into place. Despite the pain meds, I felt everything.
A few x-rays and hours later, Both the tibia and fibula were fractured and broken in a few places near the foot. No bones in the ankle or foot looked broken. I'm going to an orthopedic specialist tomorrow for a consult where they'll suggest I either put the leg in a cast or have surgery to put some pins in.
In the meantime, the dilauded made me extremely groggy and I was going in and out of consciousness. I'm now at home on oxycodon with my leg elevated upon my heart and I' ve been told I'd be out of comission for at least a week. The cast might be 6 months.
I've also realized that crutches are not very useful and can be extremely challenging. It's so hard to use especially going up or down the stairs.

Sleep Apnea

The only problem now is what to do with Max. He sleeps on Neil's head but lately he's been sleeping on my chest under the covers. He loves chewing on plastic and I'm not sure if we're that keen on having him chew through the respirator mask ($150) each night as a toy.

Sanjaya & American Idol

So back to American Idol. We also had satellite radio, SERIUS. Umm...Howard Stern for 5 days! It seems there's a strong community of Sanjaya supporters who are keeping him in not because they think he's talented or should win, but because it's funny to jolt the voting system of AI! Hence, Howard has people on his crew and callers voting 100s of times for Sanjaya! So in a way, I can't believe it hasn't been done before.
It would be totally hilarious if Sanjaya won AI. After all, it is the American voters who pick the winner!
Boston

And it's nice to see Christine again. Too bad Ari wasn't available to join us. Christine says we've visited her more than her parents!!! We had a nice Italian dinner in Little Italy, Dolce Vita.
When we were in North Hampton, we went to Joe's. It's an authetic "Bucca de Beppo". It's been around for 50 years and it's basically a shack with cracks and cervices that let in the winter cold air! Watch where you're seated! But man, the mushroom salad, pizza, and the DAMN best CANNOLI I've ever had and I don't like cannolis at all!
Check out the Flickr pics! The Hilton Boston Back Bay was really clean, nice, and convenient! We took a tourist trolley ride which was fun and very educational. We got to see where they filmed some of THE DEPARTED scenes. The FBI bldg was actually the Unemployment Center.
The Gardner museum was really the highlight of the visit. Isabella Gardner amassed an amazing assortment of art from Raphael to Vermeer, Asian pieces to Russian tapestry. It's all set up in room that mix and match and everything is in touching and reaching distance but you can't take pictures or touch. But man, it was just amazing to see it and just the night before, we watched the History Channel's episode of the stolen art from the museum. Coincidence? I think not!
Neil's Bday is March 27th (Tues). He's coming back from LA that night. Any suggestions where to take him? Surprise him?
I'm excited to see Hiram. Wish Lynne was coming up too!
Shooter
Saw Shooter tonight w/ Lan. She brought over dinner. Nice! So I thought it would be nice to return the favor and take her to a movie, but she had passes so double nice! Good action flick and Mark Wahlberg shines again. He's done a good job at picking movies that suites his style.Lots of action, good plot, great supporting cast, and lots of SHOOTING!

Winter...here we come again!
Anyway, we're off to Boston tomorrow morning and it seems the weather back East is miserable. Snow!
Can I use the excuse that I'm terribly sick and not fly? It really doesn't help that I can't even sleep at night. Every time I try to lay down, my sinus fill up and I'm plugged up. Try breathing through your mouth for a week. Your lips become very cracked and unsightly.
And not to mention I might as well be a METH head. With all the Sudafed I've been eating like candy, my heart will probably seize!
Ok...enough misery. Go rent "The Holiday" w/ Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. cute.

Pineapple Express = movie time
I've read a lot of reviews for this movie before deciding to watch it. It's awesome in the sense that it's intended to be viewed on the big screen preferably on IMAX, and keep in mind, no historical value! To those movie critics out there who chooses to critique this movie base on it's historical value, GIVE ME A BREAK! The day you can actually make us believe that anyone of you know history, no less Spartan history, without having to research it, I'll give 2 cents to your review.

On Sunday, it was on to 300. This movie rocks because it's an action flick intended to entertain and it does it's job to the very end. There's some similarities to Troy, Gladiator, and Alexander. Alexander sucked ass, Troy was just OK, Gladiator had a great actor and a good story, and 300 was just plain entertaining! Go see it for it's artistic merit. It's like watching a comic book come alive!
And well...the Spartans were HOT!

Updates
Speaking of online...I put up 3 handbags from my store that had duplicates. I put them up for a tad under my wholesale cost and 1 just a tad over. Can I tell you how much I despise the majority of eBayers! The endless barage of questions and you know..you know...you know...that after politely answering all their mundane questions, they say, "Oh I don't know!" "Oh I'm just not sure!" And bam...out comes someone from nowhere with no questions and buys it! Woo Hoo! This one stupid idiot woman had 3 questions for me. Her second question was if my bag was real b/c she was going to give it as a gift. Then her last question was, " I don't need another bag, but if you knock it down $50 and pay for shipping, I'll consider it and it's your call. Oh and if you have new Spring goods, I'll consider buying it at the same offer!" Are you f****ing out of your mind?! I was going to blast her then I realize I was just going to ignore it. It's the same thing working in the store, I just walk away from the person when it gets to be that retarded. My god!!! Do they pull that same shit in department stores?!
I am excited to say that all 3 bags were sold in under 1 hour and 1 went to Japan! Of course, it was the "kookiest" one! If only I can get top $$$ at full retail for them!
We're off to Boston next weekend for St. Patrick's Day. Neil's family is having a reunion and I got wrangled in to go! I can't believe we're flying again so soon.
