took a stroll w/ mama this morning. There's a lot of salmon in the lake jumping. Lots of ducks, geese, crows, and seagulls looking for a free meal. The crows and seagulls were eating the dead ducks that washed ashore.
Took this photo while mama was on the outskirts of the lake chirping away.

Winter
It' fucking cold outside. I'm tempted to wear thermal underwear. We went to see QUARANTINE yesterday and I was freezing during the entire movie. It wasn't that the movie was all that scary or that the AC was blasting, there was just a chill in the air that went through clothes. I came home and soaked in the tub for hours.
Quarantine was all gore. So if you liked SAW and Hostel, then you'll love this. I had fun.

babysitting
Babysitting these 2 tonight was a breeze. They played, laughed, asked Neil a hundred questions, attempted to build a crazy building model out of a 1000s parts but abandoned it in a wink of an eye.
When 7:57pm rolled around, they both got up and went to bed. Tyler said he didn't want to sleep alone and I asked Tanner if he was OK with Tyler sleeping with him. Tanner said, "Sure!"
Tyler screamed downstairs that he had to run into his room to get his pillow and blanket. Then Tanner screamed that Tyler was kicking his pillow off the bed. I went upstairs and told them that if they made anymore noise that I would send Tyler back to his room.
No more ruckus after that. When I went up to check on them, they were both sound asleep.

point of view
if it's not one thing, it's another...more later.
Did anyone watch the debate tonight? I was actually excited to watch it. I don't remember having seen any of the debates in previous years and I was expecting more verbal attacks and differences. I don't think I was the only one who wanted concrete answers from them in regards to what they had plan to do to fix the economy. Fuck the global issues, fix the ones here in the U.S. where it matters most!

blue shroom burger
Nick from Blue Moon Burger in Fremont stopped by to drop off $2 off coupons so we decided to go there for lunch. I thought the jalepenos poppers would be fresh ones fried whole with cheese but they were the pickled ones battered dip. Interesting but not really spicy.

tyler snapshot
Danny turns 38 today. Happy Birthday. I forgot the name of the green leaf used for this cake. It had young coconut meat in the center with the whip cream.
Terry make dry rub ribs and steak. We brought garlic pea vines. It was a great get together and Maggie is growing so fast.

Me
It's my photo on the cover of PI online paper! :) Nice! I'm excited to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist later today. We finally let go one of our new employees. She was just too much. When we pointed out all the issues we had as to why she's being let go, she started cursing and screaming at Neil in the store. Mental note: Remember to not let them back inside after they've been let go. She said we're firing her because she was our #1 salesperson and all the other girls were jealous of her. Yup, that's a smart way to conduct business, fire your #1 and keep the dead weight? She was so delusional and played the dumb blonde every chance she had. After she was gone, she wrote a lengthy email saying how we were legally to pay her immediately and was going to talk to her lawyer and report us to L&I, blah blah blah. Good riddance! The economy has finally tanked. Business has slowed down exponentially. We were at U Village to see how other neighborhoods are fairing and I was surprised to see their parking lot very empty. Usually, we can never find parking and end up driving around a few times before anything opens up. Stores were empty with too much inventory and staff just standing around.
The only 2 stores with any activities were Anthropologie and H&M. Anthro had huge sales racks in the back of the store and well, everything at H&M was less than $100. The H&M at U Village is so much better laid out than the flagship store at Southcenter. Well edited and to the point.
Hope this weekend's sales are good. We need it. Our lease is coming up for renewal and our landlord is jacking it up 30% with only 2 years on it. What an asshole. There are assholes and then there are major fucking assholes. No one who leases from them like them, not even the people at Starbucks. What to do?

scent of bourbon
You can be assured that whenever you visit an Anthropologie, you'll be blown away by their window merchandising and displays. Imaginative, creative, fun, whimsical, and so fresh!

escalator
finally had a chance to visit the downtown library. it's very big, spacious, and very very yellow. I forgot how quiet it is inside a library considering how many people were at the computer stations and lounging around.
I was very impressed with the layout but realized that elevators get you to every floor whereas the escalators takes to you every other odd floor.
have a taste
pike place market is always a fun place to visit on a busy sunday morning. we had some pastries at Le Panier and walked around looking at the amazing flower and fresh fruit stands. somehow, we didn't end up buying anything but took lots of pictures. I think the color on this one is wickedly amazing!
We're off to LA tomorrow at 6:30am and coming back 5:30pm. A quick buying trip to stock up the stores.

tentacles
We went to Lincoln Sq last night to see Eagle Eye. It really gave me a headache as the action was filmed way too close and the explosion were just gratuitous. Shia's turning out to be a great actor but the premise of this movie has been done before quit a few times. Nothing new or exciting, in fact, preposterous.
I think I'll pop in Transformers and watch the Behind the scenes and deleted out takes. They were showing it at Costco and it looked pretty bad ass.

Invisible Target
Rented this from Blockbuster. I actually thought it was very kickass action packed movie. I watched the special feature and Nicolas Tse said, "this is how we do action movies, Hong Kong Style!"I'm sure Danny get DL it as I was surfing the net for some pics of this movie and you can watch it online. It's better on a big TV! If you haven't seen it, rent it. I think I'll be renting Benny Chan's other movies, ie Gen-X Cops, etc.
Stars Jaycee Chan (Jackie Chan's son) and I guess HK hotties Nicolas Tse and Shawn Yue.
Oh, and HBO's TRUE BLOOD is worth watching. The first episode was FREE. Another show to watch.

how many bars?
Had a fun day at Coulon Beach Park. Tyler gave me a heart attack because I took him and Tanner to the play area and in less than 2 seconds, Tyler disappeared on me. One second he was going up the jungle gym with Tanner and the next second ...gone. I asked Tanner where did Tyler go and he said, "Tyler never leaves the play area. He's around here." So I'm looking for him and think maybe he's inside the tubes. Finally, I called back to Tanner and I'm freaking out that this kid has run off somewhere like to the water. Thank God he found his way back to Teri. OMG I tell ya!

talk to the hand
Neil's visiting his folks back on the East Coast. I'm left to manage the stores and today, today was fun fun fun. Our new employee overlooked the schedule and thought she was coming in at noon instead of 9:45. I wasn't too thrilled about that to say the least.

horizontal stripes
It really needs to be steamed. They sent this to us by mistake and won't take it back. They said I ordered it. So unless you're a size 0, this won't flatter anyone. Luckily, our staff are petite and everything looks great on them!

2 cakes and 2 tarts
Yup. 4 of them. Had a great dinner. Lots of food and my first attempt at ribs. Considering it was finished in the oven under low broil, it came out tasty and moist. I wanted it to fall off the bones but that probably would have taken another hour.
Thanks everyone for coming over and celebrating Mom's bday!
Happy Birthday
Happy birthday to Mama today. Stopped by Pike Place Market to get some fresh baked fruit tarts, fresh corn, and a few bunches of bouquets. Neil's gonna bbq some ribs tonight and he made some flaming hot chili too.

maggie
Sometimes she looks like Danny, but most of the time, she looks like Ivy. She sure has plumped up quickly and grown a lot!
We had Dim Sum at Renton Seafood Restaurant. It's a bit more Americanized than I like but not bad.

series
I haven't got a clue these books were so popular. I was at Target and the last copy was just sitting there on the shelf. I overheard these 2 women discussing the story line and the upcoming movie. Since I was leaving for Vegas, I picked up Twilight and instantly, I was hooked.
I picked up New Moon in Vegas and the lady behind the counter at the bookstore said that the printing press has sold out of Twilight (1st book).
I picked up the last 2 at Barnes & Noble.
If Teri or Danny wanna borrow the 1st 2 books, I'm done.
