A local advertising company approached me through Flickr and wanted to use this image for The Heathman Hotel in Kirkland. I took a few snapshots a while back when we went there for breakfast.
They offered me $300 for this image to use in their entire campaign. It will be incorporated in their brochure, web, possible print and national ad.
My first paid photo!

Walked Miracle Mile shops the other night. You can see how traffic is really down when the shops are extremely empty and the sales staff are bored and standing around doing nothing. We were at Sephora and chatting up the Store Manager and she said that they haven't met their monthly goal in the past 3 months. We were sampling colognes and noticed that many of them were missing. She said people steal them all the time. She ended up giving us the new Givenchy cologne with hints of chocolate that was interesting.
I flew into LA yesterday w/ some friends at 7:30am and returned to Vegas at 6:30pm. We did a quick buying trip and it was hectic and fun. I can't believe how big the fashion district market at San Pedro has become. What was just a bidg is now blocks and blocks of vendors with better and better looking merchandise.
1 and 1/2 day more in this 100+ degree weather. Enjoying it while it lasts.
Met our friends in Vegas for work and decided to visit OLD Vegas downtown. They thought it would be fun to get some fake tattoos.
It's hot as hell down here and the traffic is down 50%.
Just 2 weeks ago, the construction at city center ceased due to the lack of funding.
It's really that bad. Sure we waited 45 minutes for a cab at the airport but once we got going, there really wasn't any traffic along the strip. I've never experienced that before. Typically, it's quicker to walk the strip than cab it.
We were at Fry's and I really didn't want to connect 2 monitors together. I've been toggling back and forth between Quickbooks, and 3 other applications that it was driving me crazy. Not to mention that sometimes I close the screen down and have to reopen it and size them all.
They just sold out of the 30" but I think that would have been too big. It was listed at $699 and Neil smoozed the fella to $499. BFF discount. Of course he tried to talk us into the extended warranty. No dice.
+. Big. has HDMI so I have 4 USB extra ports on the monitor. DVI connection.
-. No sound. Took me hours to set up DVI. Idiot me (more like retarded) didn't know that it's not as simple as plug and play. You had to disable the VGA display first. If I read the manual first, it wouldn't have taken so long.
stopped by pickering farmer's market today. I think we'll make a habit of this every Saturday until it's over. Fresh, organic, and local produce. We got some noodles, beans, romas, cukes, and elephant garlic.
Nathan sent me a copy of his photos and I love them all! I posted a few to Flickr and photoshop some of them. Thanks Nate. I'll work on the returns for you this weekend.
:)
I hope you're using those pineapple soaps. Neil found the other one in the car and we're using it. So refreshing!
